ST. GEORGE, Utah-With a first round team score of 291, Oral Roberts is in fourth place of the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invite, seven shots off the lead held by the hosts, Southern Utah.
Trevor McInroe shot a first round 71 to put himself four shots off the individual lead in a tie for sixth place overall. Two shots back in a tie for 15th is where Jake Spencer and Shannon Allen sit after shooting 73's on Monday. Bryan Boaz's 74 puts him tied for 28th, while David Holtgrewe shot a 75 in the first round to tie for 35th in the tournament.
Boaz tied for the best score on the par-3 holes with a -2 for the day, while McInroe went -2 on the par-4 holes.
The second and final round of the tournament will be contested on Tuesday morning, with ORU being paired up Southern Utah, Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly. The foursome will tee off of the first four holes starting at 9 a.m.
