ST. GEORGE, Utah-Shannon Allen tied for fourth overall after shooting a 69 in the second and final round of the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational, Tuesday, leading the Golden Eagles to a sixth place finish as a team, three shots back of CSU-Northridge. CSU-Fullerton won the team championship with a team score of 575 (288-287) for the tournament.
Allen's 69 gave him a two-round score of 142 (73-69) and put him in a tie for fourth. Jake Spencer finished at 148 (73-75), tied for 23rd, while David Holtgrewe improved a shot on Tuesday to finish at 149 (75-74), tied for 27th. Trevor McInroe's 152 (71-81) put him tied for 41st, while Bryan Boaz shot a 74-79-153 to tie for 45th overall.
Holtgrewe had one of just 12 eagles in the tournament helping him to a -6 score on the par-5 holes, while Allen led the way with 10 birdies over the two-day tournament.
ORU will have nearly a month off before traveling to the Third Annual Jackrabbit Invitational on March 12-13, hosted by South Dakota State at Primm, Nev.
