PRIMM, Nev.-With a one-under 287 on Tuesday, the ORU men's golf team finished third as a team in the 3rd Annual Jackrabbit Invitational, hosted at the Primm Valley Golf Club.
The third-place finish is the highest finish of the season, having finished fourth in the first tournament of the year.
Jake Spencer had his first top-10 finish of the season and led the Golden Eagles for the first time this year shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish tied for ninth with a 215. Trevor McInroe's 71 put him tied for 18th overall with a 218, while Scott Newell carded a 75, giving him a 219 to tie for 24th.
Bryan Boaz tied Shannon Allen for the lowest round of the tournament, and the season, shooting a 69 on Tuesday to match Allen's first round score. Boaz finished at 220 in a tie for 28th. He was one shot better than Allen for the tournament with Allen finishing in a tie for 30th.
The Golden Eagles will have a slight break before returning to action at the 2012 UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic in Little Rock, Ark., on March 26-27.
