TULSA, Okla.-Both the men's and women's golf teams are headed to Arkansas for a pair of tournaments hosted by UALR. The men will take part in the 17-team UALR/First Tee Classic at Chenal Country Club, while the women will face a 19-team field at the UALR Women's Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club.
Both teams are coming outstanding performances in the desert as the men finished tied for third in the Jackrabbit Invitational, led by Jake Spencer's top-10 finish and sub-par tournament.
Led by Paul Friedlander, the Golden Eagles won the inaugural UALR/First Tee Classic back in 1994, and Missouri took last year's title.
The women finished as runners-up in the Jackrabbit Invitational, then won the weather-shortened Bison Invitational by 17 shots. Crystal Reeves led the way for ORU in both tournaments, tying for the individual championship at the Bison Invitational.
With a 903 last season, ORU won the 2011 UALR Women's Classic, with Reeves claiming first the year before with a 213 in 2010. Cristy Carter shot a 217 and won on the first playoff hole to claim medalist honors in 2008.
