HOT SPRINGS, Ark.-Led by Jake Spencer's 149, the Oral Roberts men's golf team shot a 302 in the first round and a 304 (606) in the second and sit in seventh place after day one of the UALR/First Tee Classic, Monday at Chenal Country Club.
Spencer shot a 73 in the first round and followed it up with a 76 (149, +5) to tie for 14th overall, while David Holtgrewe put together a 77-74 (151 (+7) day to tie for 31st in the field. One shot back of his teammate in a tie for 39th, Scott Newell shot 75 in the first round and 77 in the second (152, +8).
Bryan Boaz and Trevor McInroe tied each other for 70th overall with a two-round score of 158 (+14). For Boaz it was an 81 followed by a 77, for McInroe just the opposite, a 77 in the first round and an 81 in the second.
The Golden Eagles will tee off the final three holes on Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m. and are paired with players from UMKC and UALR.
