JONESBORO, Ark.-With a 297 and 296 (593) in the first and second rounds, respectively, the Oral Roberts men's golf team sits in 14th after two rounds of the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate at RidgePointe Country Club. ORU is one shot behind Oklahoma City and Missouri State, who tied for 12th. Austin Peay leads the team race with a 572.
With 22 teams in the field, the Golden Eagles found themselves near the middle of the pack, led by Scott Newell's consistent day. Newell tied for 16th individually with a pair of 72s on the day (144, +2). David Holtgrewe shot a 75 in the first round but rebounded with a 70 in the second to finish at 145 (+3), tied for 24th overall.
Jake Spencer went the other way after posting a 72 in the first round and a 76 in the second, giving him a 148 (+6), tying him for 44th overall. Trevor McInroe's 78-78-156 (+14) put him in a tie for 93rd overall, while Bryan Boaz shot 78-81 for a 159 (+17) to tie for 106.
Playing as an individual, Shannon Allen is tied for 24th after shooting a 76 and a 69 (145, +3).
