ORU Men Upended at St. Louis 5-2

St. Louis, MO—The Oral Roberts men’s tennis team dropped to 1-2 on the season with a 5-2 setback at St. Louis University Friday afternoon.

Mikhail Trukshanin dropped a tough 7-5, 5-7, 10-12 decision in #1 singles, before Dmitry Suslov got the Golden Eagles in the win column with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Vuk Poledica in #2 singles.

ORU’s Igor Sobolta fell 4-6, 6-2, 14-16 to Nishaad Balachandran at the three spot, but it was Dario Beslic gaining a 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 win for the Golden Eagles in #4 singles.

Matthew Tansil and Matthew Prevost each dropped consecutive decisions in #5 and #6 singles competition.

Trukshanin and Sobolta gained an 8-3 ORU victory in #1 doubles, but Saint Louis managed to post 8-5 and 8-0 victories in the #2 and #3 slots to pull out the doubles win.

The Golden Eagles are back at it on February 6, when they travel to Dallas, Texas to take on SMU at 3:00 p.m.
