Allen, Prevost Earn Points in 5-2 Loss to WIU

ORU is now 1-11 on the season, with an 0-2 mark in Summit League play.
The highlights of the night came from Parker Allen and Matthew Prevost. Allen won his second-flight singles match over Ben Yue, 6-1, 6-4, and Prevost earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Daniel Sweeney on the fifth court.
But Western (3-10, 1-2 Summit League) won the remaining five points, starting with the singles marker. Yue and Patrick Hammers combined to best ORU’s Alvaro Gutierrez and Nathaniel Avery on the top court, 8-3, while Andrew Yopp and Jim Capalbo knocked off Allen and Pedro Moreno at No. 2, 8-2.
WIU’s singles wins started at No. 1, where Hammers took down Gutierrez, 6-2, 6-3. Capalbo beat Moreno on the third court, 6-2, 7-6, and Yopp dropped Avery on the fourth, 6-4, 6-3.
Jesus Roman also scored a point for the Leathernecks on the sixth court with a walkover victory.
ORU continues their Summit League road trip on Saturday afternoon when they face IPFW at 2 pm CT.
