Kansas City, MO-The Oral Roberts women's tennis team broke back into the win column with an impressive 6-1 victory over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Saturday afternoon in the final match of the Summit Cluster.
Iryna Khatsko started things off with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Caitlin Young in #1 singles, while Lina Semenova downed Jackie Dinicu 6-4, 6-2 in #2 singles.
Kristen Gray and Tori Dollar each earned victories in the #3 and #4 spots, and Ekaterina Kondrashova posted a 6-3, 2-2 (ret) victory over Demi Georgakopoulos in #5 singles.
The lone ORU singles setback came when Amanda Pettey escaped with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Rachel Scroggs.
ORU earned the afternoon doubles point when Khatsko and Semenova logged a dominating 8-0 win at #1, and Gray and Dollar held on for an 8-4 victory in the #2 slot.
The victory moves the Golden Eagles to 3-7 on the season and 2-2 in conference action.
ORU is back on the court on April 14, when they battle South Dakota State at 9:00 a.m.
