Women’s Tennis Swept at #19 Tulsa

Rachel Scroggs put on the strongest showing in the afternoon opener, battling TU’s Anamaria Candanoza tough in #6 singles before eventually falling 3-6, 4-6.
Lina Semenova also remained competitive in #2 singles with a 3-6, 3-6 loss to Anastasia Erofeeva.
All other ORU singles matches four point or more losses, as Iryna Khatsko fell 2-6, 2-6 at #1, Kristin Gray stumbled 1-6, 2-6 in #3, Tori Dollar dropped an 0-6, 1-6 contest in #4 and Ekaterina Kondrashova fell 0-6, 0-6 at #5.
Each doubles match resulted in a 1-8 setback for the Golden Eagles.
Although not winning a point, ORU fared slightly better in the second contest of the day.
Semenova forced a three game affair against Ewa Szatkowska, before getting edged out to the tune of 7-6, (7-3), 6-1.
Scroggs continued to look good in #6 singles, putting up a tough fight before Meredith Burns pulled out the 6-2, 6-4 win for Tulsa.
The Golden Hurricane also notched 8-3, 8-1, 8-1 wins in doubles play.
The losses drop ORU to 3-9 on the season. The Golden Eagles are back at it on April 14, as they return to conference play against South Dakota State at 9:00 a.m. in Brookings, South Dakota.
