Women’s Tennis Falls to IPFW in Summit Championship Opener

Fort Wayne, Ind.—The #4 seeded Oral Roberts women’s tennis dropped an 0-4 decision to #1 IPFW in the opening round of the Summit League Championships Friday afternoon at the Pine Ridge Racquet and Fitness Club.

ORU had their hands full from start to finish, as Brittney Smith dropped a 6-0, 6-0 contest at #6 singles, while Rachel Scroggs stumbled 6-0, 6-0 at the #5 position.

Tori Dollar fared the best for the Golden Eagles at #3, but still found herself on the short end of a 6-4, 6-3 setback.

The singles matches of Iryna Khatsko, Lina Semenova and Ekaterina Kondrashova all went unfinished.

ORU failed to find any success in doubles play, as the duo of Khatsko and Dollar fell 8-4 at #1.

Smith and Kondrashova also fell 8-1 in #3 doubles, while the #2 match with Scroggs and Semenova went unfinished.

With the loss, ORU ends the season with a 5-12 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the Summit League.
