ORU Slides Past Central Arkansas, 4-1

CONWAY, Ark. - Oral Roberts University won their second consecutive match, a 4-1 result over the University of Central Arkansas on Sunday afternoon at the UCA Tennis Courts. ORU is now 3-4 on the season.

Iryna Khatsko, Marizanne Bouwer and Tori Dollar each won matches at both singles and doubles for the Golden Eagles.

ORU set the tone early, sweeping through the doubles portion of the event. Lina Semenova and Haley Martin dropped Allison Hartman and Allison Murphy at the top spot, 8-5, and Khatsko teamed with Kristin Gray to win by the same count at No. 2, over Simona Horsikyan and Kazumi Otani.

With the doubles point in hand, Bouwer and Dollar routed Sasha Ruocco and Kristian Horsikyan, 8-1.

Khatsko took the top flight singles match over Simona Horsikyan, 6-2, 6-3. Bouwer won the fifth court over Ruocoo, 6-4, 6-2, and Dollar topped Otani at the sixth spot, 6-4, 6-1.

UCA’s lone point came at No. 2 singles, where Murphy won a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Martin.

With the match clinched, the third and fourth singles court matches were halted in progress.

ORU will look to carry their momentum over to Thursday, March 15, when they face the University of Arkansas.
