Tori Dollar has won five straight matches
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Junior Tori Dollar won her fifth straight match, but it was not enough on Friday morning as Oral Roberts University fell to No. 37 Arkansas, 5-1, at the Billingsley Tennis Center.

The loss drops ORU’s record to 3-5.

Counting singles and doubles victories, Dollar has not been defeated since Jan. 28 against North Texas. The junior was named Summit League Player of the Week on Jan. 24 for her strong performances in the opening week of the year.

A native of Kiev, Ukraine, Dollar is now 5-2 in singles play this season.

Dollar’s victory came at No. 6 singles, a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Catherine Parenteau.

However, the Razorbacks (9-6) were victorious on the other five courts. Emily Carbone defeated Iryna Khatsko in the top flight, 6-3, 6-3, and Claudine Paulson topped Lina Semenova on the second court, 6-4, 6-1.

The third court went to Stephanie Roy, 6-0, 6-1, over Haley Martin. Kate Lukomskaya defeated Kristin Gray, 6-0, 6-1, at the fourth spot, and Laurie Gingras earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Marizanne Bouwer on court five, 6-1, 6-0.

With the match clinched for Arkansas, the teams did not compete in doubles action.

The Golden Eagles face a big test next week. Beginning on Thursday, ORU will play four Summit League matches over a three-day stretch in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The first of those matches is scheduled for Thursday at 2 pm against IPFW.
