Haley Martin scored two victories over UMKC
FT. WAYNE, Ind. - Oral Roberts University continued to dominate the competition at this week’s Summit League women’s tennis cluster, scoring a 4-0 sweep over UMKC on Friday morning at the Pine Ridge Racquet and Fitness Club.

ORU is now 5-5 on the season and 2-0 in Summit League play.

The Golden Eagles waltzed through doubles competition, taking all three points from the Kangaroos. Haley Martin and Lina Semenova won the top flight match from Eva Dalva and Laura Bouet, 8-3. Kristin Gray and Iryna Khatsko dominated Amelie Amsallem and Suzan Lisenby on the second court, 8-2, while Marizanne Bouwer and Tori Dollar won an 8-6 decision over Madeline Schulte and Gabriela Pintos.

Martin kept the momentum in high gear at the outset of singles play, capturing her third court match over Amsallem, 6-2, 6-1. Khatsko pushed ORU to the brink of victory with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 win over Dalvai at the No. 1 spot, and Gray clinched the win, beating Schulte at No. 4 by a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) score.

With the victory in hand for ORU and both teams having an evening match on the schedule, the final three singles courts were abandoned in progress.

ORU returns to the court later on Friday afternoon against South Dakota. First serve for the match has been bumped up to 4:30 pm CT.
