ORU Finishes Perfect Weekend with SDSU Sweep

Iryna Khatsko and ORU went 4-0 this weekend
FT. WAYNE, Ind. - Oral Roberts University finished off a 4-0 weekend at the Summit League cluster with a 4-0 demolition of South Dakota State University on Saturday morning at the Wildwood Racquet Club. The Golden Eagles are now 7-5 on the season along with their spotless conference record.

ORU opened the match with another flawless showing on the doubles courts. Haley Martin and Lina Semenova took the top flight from Jenny Blackburne and Brooke Henry, 8-4, while Iryna Khatsko and Kristin Gray won an 8-6 decision from Bryna Nasenbeny and Megan McDougall.

Tori Dollar and Marizanne Bouwer finished the doubles romp with an 8-4 win over Natalia Medina and Bethany Goeden on the third court.

ORU dispatched of the Jacks in straight sets on the first three singles courts, sending the match to a hasty conclusion.  Khatsko finished off Nasenbeny, 6-3, 6-0, for the top flight triumph. Semenova scored a 6-3, 6-1 win over Blackburne in the second flight, and Martin dropped Henry on the third court, 6-3, 6-1.
With the 4-0 sweep in hand, the remaining three matches were stopped in progress.

Khatsko’s dominance was key to ORU’s perfect weekend. The senior was 4-0 at No. 1 singles at the Summit League cluster, and she combined with Gray to go 4-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Bouwer and Dollar also combined for a 4-0 doubles record at the event, and both players went 2-0 in completed singles matches.

ORU returns to the court on Friday, April 6 for a home match against UCF.
