ELMHURST, Ill. - After yet another unblemished week in Summit League play, senior Iryna Khatsko of Oral Roberts University has been named Summit League Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, the League announced today. The weekly award is the third of the season for Khatsko.

A native of Lviv, Ukraine, Khatsko was 7-0 at last week’s Summit League cluster event in Indianapolis. At top flight singles, Khatsko was 4-0, with three straight-set triumphs. From the No. 2 doubles spot, Khatsko teamed with Kristin Gray to post a 3-0 record last week.

Khatsko’s success led ORU to wins over Western Illinois, IUPUI, Oakland and Southern Utah. The victories clinched the Summit League regular season championship for the Golden Eagles (11-5, 8-0 Summit League).

For the season, Khatsko is 11-4 (8-0 Summit League) in singles competition and 10-2 (7-0 Summit League) in pairs play. The Oklahoma State transfer is one of just five Summit League players to go undefeated in conference play, and the only one to do so out of the No. 1 spot.

Khatsko is also the only player to accumulate eight Summit League singles victories this season.

Led by Khatsko, the Golden Eagles will hold the top seed at the Summit League Championship, which begins on April 27 in Kansas City.
