In addition to Khatsko’s selection, ORU placed Lina Semenova, Kristin Gray and Tori Dollar on the All-Summit League team, and head coach Chris Milliron was named Summit League Coach of the Year.
ORU was the only team to place four players on the All-League team.
Khatsko, from Lviv, Ukraine, has dominated the Summit League’s best competition in 2012. The senior went 11-5 from the No. 1 singles position, with an 8-0 Summit League record, and she was 10-2 in doubles play with a 7-0 Summit League mark. Khatsko’s 15 Summit League wins are tops in the conference in 2012, and she’s earned victories in her last 17 matches dating back to February.
Khatsko is a three-time Summit League Player of the Week in 2012.
Semenova has served as ORU’s primary second flight player, posting an 8-8 singles record. The senior from Minsk, Belarus cranked her game into high gear when Summit League play started, going 4-1 against conference foes. Semenova was also 8-5 in doubles matches, with a 5-1 League mark.
Gray went 7-6 in singles play as a senior, with a 5-1 Summit League record. Serving as Khatsko’s primary doubles partner, the Tulsa native has shined brightest in pairs competition with a 10-4 campaign, including a flawless 7-0 League mark.
Dollar is a two-time Summit League Player of the Week, and she earned ORU’s lone points in matches against Oklahoma State and Arkansas. The junior from Kiev, Ukraine is 9-2 in singles play, with a 4-0 Summit League record, and she is 8-3 in pairs play with a 5-0 conference record.
The All-Summit League selection is the third for Semenova, while Khatsko is a two-time All-League honoree.
Milliron led ORU to an 11-5 regular season mark, with a perfect 8-0 Summit League record. Under Milliron’s guidance, the Golden Eagles dropped only four individual matches in Summit League play, and they earned non-conference wins over regional rivals Central Arkansas and UALR.
The Coach of the Year award is the fifth of Milliron’s career.
At 8-0 in Summit League play, ORU captured their seventh regular season conference title, and their first since 2009. The Golden Eagles face fourth-seeded Southern Utah on Friday in the semifinals of the 2012 Summit League Championship. First serve in Kansas City is scheduled for 10 am CT.
