Silva Honored as Defensive Player of the Week

The ORU Athletics Department is pleased to announce that Bruna Silva has been named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week following a brilliant defensive effort this past weekend against Oakland and IPFW.
The 5-8 freshman from Niteroi, Brazil, paced the Golden Eagles with 28 digs against Oakland, before topping that performance with a career-high 31 digs against the Summit League’s number one ranked IPFW Mastodons.
On the weekend, Silva tallied 59 digs, averaging 7.37 per set, while chipping in two assists and a service ace in two ORU losses.
