Ft. Wayne, IN-Anna Rossi notched a double-double with 31 assists and 11 digs, leading Oral Roberts Volleyball to a 3-1 (19-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-14) victory over the IUPUI Jaguars Saturday evening at the Jungle in Ft. Wayne Indiana.
The lone ORU setback came in set one, when IUPUI battled back from an early 5-10 deficit, eventually pulling out a late 10-4 run to seal the deal on the game opener.
That would be the lone bright spot for the host Jaguars however, as ORU managed to bounce back with a convincing seven point game two victory, knotting the contest up at one each.
With the momentum on their side, a suddenly sizzling ORU squad would not trail for the rest of the evening. The Golden Eagles climbed ahead by as many as six in the early goings of the next two sets and cruised to their eighth conference win of the year.
Olivia Ophus finished just shy of a double-double with 15 kills and nine digs, with Tatum Fredeen chipping in 10 kills in the ORU win.
A strong Golden Eagle defensive effort held IUPUI to a .127 hitting clip, while posting 82 digs and 16 combined blocks.
With the win, ORU completes the weekend conference sweep and moves to 10-12 on the year and 8-6 in Summit League action. IUPUI drops to 7-20 overall and 6-9 in conference play.
The ladies return to the Aerobics Center to wrap up the home season next weekend, as they host Southern Utah on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and UMKC on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
