Fernandes Named to Academic All-America Team

TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts University senior Sheina Fernandes has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America 3rd Team, ORU’s first ever Academic All-American in the sport of volleyball.
Fernandes, a native of Porto Alegre, Brazil, carries a perfect 4.00 GPA in International Business. In addition to the Academic All-America nod, she was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team.
In addition to her classroom prowess, Fernandes was s standout performer on the court for ORU in 2012. The 1st Team All-SLC selection led the squad with 321 kills and posted a .350 hitting percentage, the 7th-best single-season mark in program history. Fernandes also tallied 148 blocks in her final season, the 6th-highest season total in ORU history.
Fernandes led ORU to a 17-15 record and a spot in the finals of the Southland Conference Tournament last season.
