Tulsa, Okla - The ORU bats came alive for a second straight game, leading the Golden Eagles to an 11-5 victory over Alcorn State on Saturday in game two of their three-game series.

The Golden Eagles (5-5) scored 11 runs for a second straight game and have now won four of their last five games at home. Jared Schlehuber led the way offensively for the Golden Eagles, batting 2-4 with his fourth home run of the season. Schlehuber is batting .417 with eight RBI on the year.

Freshman Jose Trevino had a breakout game at the plate, going 2-3 with three RBI and his first home run of the season.

ORU starter Kurt Giller (1-2) got his first win as a Golden Eagle, pitching six innings with six strikeouts.

Alcorn State (1-7) has struggled to hit in this series, managing just six runs, five of which came from two home runs hit by Rodney Warren on Saturday. Warren collected five RBI and was the only Alcorn State player with multiple hits on the day.

Braves Starter Troy Williams (0-1) pitched five innings, allowing nine runs off eight hits and five walks. His Effort was not helped by four errors committed by the Braves defense.

The Golden Eagles scored in the first seven innings of the game, including two runs in the first-inning off a sacrifice fly by Jose Trevino and a bases-loaded walk by Bennett Pickar.

ORU extended the lead in the second-inning after an RBI single by Cam Schiller scored Brandon King to make it 3-0.  Trevino's solo home run in the third-inning followed by an RBI-single by King gave ORU a 5-0 lead.

Warren's two-run shot off Giller in the fourth-inning cut the Golden Eagles lead to 5-2. But ORU was able to answer in the bottom of the inning with Trevino's second sacrifice fly and two bases-loaded walks by Austen Colt and Chris Williams to make it 8-2 ORU.

Schlehuber's home run in the fifth gave ORU a 9-2 advantage, but Rodney Warren once again responded, this time with a three-run home run, and the Golden Eagles lead was cut to 9-5. But the Alcorn State pitching could not solve the ORU hitting, and the Golden Eagles scored runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh-inning to seal the win, 11-5.

The final game of the series will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
