LITTLE ROCK, ARK.- A two-run home run in the tenth inning by Freshman Jose Trevino gave Oral Roberts a thrilling  6-5 victory over UALR on Tuesday  at Gary Hogan Field.

ORU survived a furious rally by The Trojans in the ninth inning, avoiding back-to-back losses and improving to 13-14 on the season.

Joe Spring got his second start for ORU and pitched four innings, allowing two runs off four hits with four strikeouts.

Freshman Phillip Wilson pitched 1.1 innings with two strikeouts to earn his first win as a Golden Eagle.

Jared Schlehuber, Brandon King and Trevino all hit two-run home runs to lead ORU at the plate.  King left the yard for the first time this season, while Schlehuber hit his seventh, and Trevino his fifth.

UALR (16-13) lost a one-run home game to the Golden Eagles for the second year in a row. The Trojans dropped to 2-6 all-time against ORU.

Starter Tyler Buckley pitched four innings, giving up six hits and four runs. Blake Humman (3-3) was slapped with the loss after giving up the game winning home run to Jose Trevino.

UALR was led offensively by Sean Bignall who launched his 12th home run of the season, tying him for first in the nation. Bignall also tied the game in the ninth with a two-run double off Matt Rush.

The Trojans got on the board early with Bignall's solo shot in the second inning to give them a 1-0 lead.

A leadoff single by Kevin Cho in the top of the third followed by a monster home run by Schlehuber put the Golden Eagles on the board and gave them the lead, 2-1.

King followed  up with a two-run home run of his own in the fourth inning, pushing the ORU advantage to 4-1.

UALR answered with their second home run of the game, a solo blast by Nick Roundtree to slice the ORU lead down to 4-2 in the fourth.

Dan Martony and Alec Smith both pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, and Lars Liguori recorded the first two outs of the ninth inning to set up Matt Rush who entered the game looking for his third save. Instead, Rush put runners on first and second with two outs when Bignall came to the plate representing the winning run.

Bignall scorched a grounder past Trevino at third, and the game was tied 4-4.

Rush was relieved by Phillip Wilson who sent the game into extra innings.

Trevino instantly turned the momentum back in ORU's favor with a two-run shot over the center field wall to give the lead right back to the Golden Eagles in the tenth, 6-4.

John Clark tried to start another UALR rally in the tenth with a solo home run to make it 6-5.  Clarks shot was the sixth home run in the game for both teams.

Wilson was able to settle down and finish off the Trojans, ending the game with an emphatic strikeout.

The Golden Eagles will begin their quest for a 15th consecutive Summit League title against Oakland on Friday, April 6, in a four game series at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
