Wilson Named to Postseason All-Star Team

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. -ORU sophomore pitcher Phillip Wilson was named to the postseason All-Star first team for the Coastal Plain League, it was announced Wednesday. Wilson was also named to the mid-season all-star list for the League.

Wilson played for the Florence RedWolves over the summer, posting a 4-0 record with five saves and an incredible 0.70 ERA in 14 appearances on the mound. It was by far the best ERA on the team for regular starters or relievers, and was third in the entire Coastal Plain League among relievers with at least 10 appearances.

About the Coastal Plain League
The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Further more,the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 55 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
