TULSA, Okla. – After an outstanding three game series against Nicholls State, Oral Roberts University sophomore catcher Jose Trevino has been named the Southland Conference hitter of the week, the league office announced on Monday.
Trevino started each game of a doubleheader on Saturday with three-run home runs in the first inning. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native accounted for 13 of the Golden Eagle runs in the series.
Battling injury, Trevino hit .583 in the series against Nicholls, with seven hits, eight runs batted in, scored five times, had two home runs and doubled in the series finale.
The Golden Eagles (15-26, 10-8 SLC) head to Beaumont, Texas, for a conference series against league leading Lamar on Friday.
