Schiller, Gonzalez Named Summit Players of the Week
Schiller, a junior shortstop from Prescott, Arizona, collects his second player of the week award this season after leading Oral Roberts to the regular season title last week.
The junior began the week with a 3-for-4 performance with four RBI’s, a double and home run against No. 7 TCU.
He had the game-tying hit in the eighth inning of a 6-5 win over SUU, while knocking in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th of a 1-0 win over the Thunderbirds in game two of the series. Schiller recorded three hits in the final two games and is riding a 10-game hitting streak.
For the week, Schiller batted .579 (11-for-19) with 10 RBI, five runs, four doubles, one homer, one sacrifice fly, one walk and no errors. He also registered a .947 slugging percentage and .571 on-base percentage.
Gonzalez (Boca Raton, Fla./Community) collects his fourth Pitcher of the Week award this season, yielding three hits over nine innings in a no-decision against Southern Utah.

The freshman struck out 10, walked just two batters and did not surrender an extra-base hit. Gonzalez has pitched at least seven innings in seven of his 15 starts on the season.
Gonzales shared the honor with Treinen, who tossed a seven-inning, complete-game shutout, the first in his career, in a 10-0 win over IPFW. The senior allowed only five hits, all singles, with just one walk while fanning nine batters.
The Golden Eagles open up the Summit League Tournament this Thursday, as they square off against Western Illinois at 2:00 p.m. in Sioux Falls, SD.
