TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts baseball team looks to continue its momentum from a series victory last weekend, as they head to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for a three-game set at Southeast Missouri State.
The series first pitch is schedule for Friday at 3 p.m., with game two on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. and game three is Sunday afternoon at 1.
Last Saturday at Louisiana Tech, the Golden Eagles (3-4) got timely hitting in the second game as Chris Williams hit a three-run homer in the 8th inning for the victory. The offense continued to strike on Sunday, turning Bulldog mistakes into runs, winning 9-3, helping ORU take the second of three.
While the Golden Eagles have won their last two, the Redhawks (6-3) of SEMO has dropped three of their last field, including an 8-4 affair at home against Saint Louis on Tuesday. Last weekend, former conference foe to ORU, North Dakota State, grab two wins in a three game series in Cape Girardeau.
In their victories this season, the Redhawks are scoring 9.6 runs a ballgame. They are led at the plate by Andy Linnington with 12 runs batted in and has six extra base hits. The Redhawks are also aggressive on the base paths, swiping 13 bases through nine games.
Friday's contest marks the first time the two squads have faced each other since 1997 when the Redhawks took a pair in a three game series at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
