FORT WORTH, Texas—Cam Schiller knocked in four runs but Oral Roberts came out on the short end of a 6-4 loss at No. 9 TCU, Tuesday at Lupton Stadium.

ORU (29-20) twice brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the top of the ninth, but Nick Baligod popped out to left field and Chris Elder lined out to left to end the game.

The Horned Frogs (37-15) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. ORU starting pitcher Brad Fisher (0-1) walked Brance Rivera, who later reached third when first baseman Brett Sowers dropped a pickoff attempt from Fisher. Rivera scored on Jantzen Witte’s single up the middle.

TCU tacked on another run in the third when Witte plated Kyle Von Tungeln with a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead.

An RBI single by Jerome Pena and a sacrifice squeeze bunt plated a pair of runs in the fourth as the Horned Frogs extended their lead to 4-0.

ORU got on the board in the fifth inning when Schiller lined a two-run home run just inside the right field foul pole, cutting TCU’s lead to 4-2.

The Horned Frogs wasted no time in getting the runs back.  Josh Elander led off the bottom of the inning with a double scored when Joe Weik followed with a single center, making it 5-2. Weik, who advanced to third when center fielder Joey Winiecki over-ran his base hit, scored on a groundout by Taylor Featherston to give TCU a 6-2 advantage.

Schiller brought the Golden Eagles to within 6-4 with a two-run double in the eighth. A walk to pinch-hitter Jared Schlehuber brought the go-ahead run to the plate, but Chris Williams struck out to end the inning.

Fisher suffered the loss in his second start of the season, allowing two runs on two hits in three innings of work.

Kyle Starratt (1-1) earned the win for TCU by tossing 6.0 innings and allowing just two runs.

ORU out-hit TCU, 10-7. Schiller finished the game 3-for-4, tying a season-high with the four RBI. Winiecki joined Schiller by also going 3-for-4, adding two runs and a stolen base.

The Golden Eagles close out the regular season when they open a four-game Summit League home series with Southern Utah, 6:30 p.m., Thursday at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
