ORU Begins SLC Play with Houston Baptist on Thursday

TULSA, Okla.-The Oral Roberts men’s basketball team will begin Southland Conference play on Thursday, January 2, as the Golden Eagles host league newcomer Houston Baptist, at 7:30 p.m. inside the Mabee Center.  Thursday’s game will be nationally televised live on Fox College Sports and GEB America, and tape delayed in Tulsa on KGEB.

Audio of Thursday’s game will be broadcast live in the Tulsa area on 97.1 FM “The Sports Animal,” and free online through the ORU athletics website, www.ORUGoldenEagles.com. Fans on twitter can also follow the @ORUMBB account for live updates and notes throughout the game. Live video through the ELIVE Digital Network is available for a small fee.

Thursday will mark the third time since 2009 in which ORU (6-7) has opened conference play at home as the Golden Eagles host Houston Baptist (3-9). It will be the first meeting between the two schools, and will be the sixth of 10 first time opponents, and the third in a row, for Coach Scott Sutton, having already played Kansas State, Georgia Southern, Bowling Green, Dallas Baptist and Baylor.
