Wilson Declared Immediately Eligible by NCAA
TULSA, Okla. – Transfer Drew Wilson has been granted immediate eligibility from the NCAA after joining the Oral Roberts University men’s basketball team to be closer to home after a death in the family.
Wilson, who spent two seasons—including a redshirt year—at Missouri State, will have three years remaining to compete for the Golden Eagles.
Last season, Wilson played in 31 games as a redshirt freshman and started 18 games for the Bears. Averaging 2.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, he was one of only two freshmen in the Missouri Valley Conference to have more than 100 rebounds in 2012-13.
Originally from Tulsa, Wilson averaged a double-double in high school with 15.7 points and 12.4 rebounds per game as a senior. He was rated by ESPN.com as the No. 6 overall senior in the state of Oklahoma and the No. 94 overall power forward in the nation. He participated in the Faith 7 All-Star game and was also a Tulsa Channel 8 Elite 8 selection, as well as an all-metro selection.
