FRISCO, Texas – ORU’s triple threat earned all-conference honors, it was announced Tuesday by the Southland Conference office in preparation for the upcoming Southland Conference Tournament. Seniors Damen Bell-Holter and Warren Niles were both first team all-conference, while junior Shawn Glover was named to the second team.

Stephen F. Austin’s Taylor Smith earned Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors, while Northwestern State swept Freshman (Jalan West) and Newcomer of the Year (DeQuan Hicks) honors. SFA’s Danny Kaspar took home Coach of the Year honors after leading the Lumberjacks to a first-place finish.

Of the three Golden Eagles honored, one of them has led ORU in scoring in each of the last 15 games and the trio has accounted for four 30-point games, 27 20-point games and 15 double-doubles this season. Additionally, the three leading scorers and rebounders for ORU have combined to score 1,500 points, which accounts for 68 percent of the team’s scoring, and 579 rebounds, 52 percent of the team’s rebounds.

Niles and Bell-Holter are both etched all over the career record books, with Niles sitting ninth on the all-time scoring list and fourth in made 3-pointers. Bell-Holter is approaching the top five in rebounding and is fourth in blocked shots.  No surprise their senior seasons have also been two of the best in ORU history as well, with Bell-Holter grabbing 302 rebounds so far, the ninth-best season in ORU history. After tying his career high with seven 3-pointers last game, Niles jumped from ninth to sixth on the single-season charts with 89.

One of the most versatile players on the ORU roster, Glover has consistently led the team in a number of different statistical categories, scoring at least 10 points in 22 of the 29 games in which he has played. He scored at least 24 points in four of five games in the middle of the season, including a career-high 28 point effort on the road at Northwestern State. After the regular season, Glover is tied for the team lead in blocks, second on the team in rebounding, third on the team in scoring, and third on the team in assists.
