Glover Named SLC Player of the Week
TULSA, Okla.-After earning tournament MVP honors at the 2013 Cancun Challenge, Oral Roberts senior Shawn Glover has been named the Southland Conference Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Glover scored at least 24 points in both games in Cancun, helping ORU win the Mayan Division Championship. The senior from Dallas, Texas (Cedar Hill H.S.) scored 24 points in a 67-65 win over Georgia Southern and poured in 27 points in the 63-56 victory over Bowling Green. Glover now has three consecutive games of at least 24 points. He shot 57.6 percent from the floor (19 of 33) and made 13 of 15 free throws in the two games. He led ORU in points, steals, free throws made, free throw percentage and was second in rebounds. He hit his final four free throw attempts and grabbed an important rebound in the final 15 seconds of the championship game. Glover leads the Southland in scoring, averaging 21.1 points per game in seven games this season.
Glover and the Golden Eagles will host Cameron University on Tuesday, December 3 at 7 p.m. inside the Mabee Center.
