LAWRENCE, Kan. - Oral Roberts University faces their first real test of the season on Sunday, November 10 when they face back-to-back Sweet 16 participant Kansas. Tipoff at Allen Fieldhouse is scheduled for 2 pm CT.

Television coverage of Sunday’s game is available nationally on ESPN3 and throughout the state of Kansas on the Jayhawk Television Network. Radio coverage is available in Tulsa on KYAL-AM 1550 and around the globe on ORUGoldenEagles.com.

Oral Roberts (1-0) steamrolled USAO on Friday, 89-68, in their season opener. Freshman Kaylan Mayberry led the Golden Eagles with 18 points and six assists, while senior Christian Key was 5-for-7 from three-point range and added 15 points.

Two other Golden Eagles scored in double-figures, with Sarah Shelton scoring 14 points and Alexus Wilson putting in 12. Shelton also snared a career-high 16 rebounds, the best individual rebounding performance for a Golden Eagle since the 2010-11 season.

Nine players made their ORU debuts in the win, with Mayberry and Wilson leading the way. Freshman Noora Jaervikangas scored eight points in her collegiate debut, and Oklahoma State transfer Jenni Bryan was solid all-around with five points, six rebounds and five assists.

Kansas has not played a regular season game yet, but they earned exhibition victories over Pittsburg State, 85-54, and Emporia State, 61-53, during the preseason. Chelsea Gardner led the Jayhawks with 18 points in the first win, while CeCe Harper scored a team-high 15 points in the second.

KU went 20-14 in 2012-13 and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season.

The Jayhawks are 11-0 all-time against ORU, with a 7-0 record in Lawrence. The teams last played on December 21, 2011, an 85-68 KU victory. Key was the only active Golden Eagle to log minutes in the game, scoring two points. Junior Bernadett Balla, who will miss Sunday’s game with a foot injury, went scoreless with two rebounds in the game.

KU’s Gardner scored 10 points in the 2011 matchup, and Harper chipped in eight off the bench.

ORU will face a second straight power conference opponent on Wednesday, November 13, when they take on Arkansas. Game time in Fayetteville, Ark., is scheduled for 7 pm CT.
