TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts University returns to the court on Saturday, January 11, when they host the University of Central Arkansas. The Southland Conference matchup begins at 3 pm CT, with live radio coverage available on KYAL-AM 1550 and ORUGoldenEagles.com.

ORU (2-10, 1-1 SLC) is a week removed from a 58-53 loss at the hands of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The loss was just the second for Misti Cussen’s team in their last 14 conference home games. ORU shot just 37.3% in the loss and turned the ball over 19 times.

Freshmen led the way for ORU in the loss to the Islanders. Alexus Wilson scored a team-high 13 points, while Dorottya Balla chipped in 11. Kaylan Mayberry came up with eight points, including a pair of crucial baskets during ORU’s late-stages comeback attempt.

Balla’s 11-point day came on the heels of a 30-point effort against Houston Baptist on January 2. The freshman averaged 20.5 points per game last week, earning her first ever honorable mention selection in Southland Conference Player of the Week voting.

Central Arkansas (8-5, 2-0 SLC) is riding a three-game winning streak. The Bears won their Southland opener, 66-62, over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on January 2, and they stopped Houston Baptist, 67-54, on January 4.

Courtney Duever earned SLC Player of the Week honors after tallying 24 points and 15 rebounds against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and adding 14 points against HBU. For the season, the senior Preseason All-SLC selection leads UCA with 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

ORU is 6-1 all-time against Central Arkansas and has won the last six meetings with the Bears, all since 2006. The teams last met in the 2012-13 regular season finale, a 68-53 ORU win in Conway, Ark. Kevi Luper led ORU with 20 points, while Bernadett Balla led current Golden Eagles with eight points.

A win on Saturday would keep the Golden Eagles from losing their second straight home conference game. ORU has not lost consecutive home conference games since the 2008-09 season, when they lost their last four home Summit League contests.

A victory would also be ORU’s 600th win in program history. ORU is 599-537 all-time in 38+ seasons of intercollegiate women’s basketball.

Following Saturday's game, ORU will turn their attention to their first Southland Conference road game of the season. The Golden Eagles will face transitional SLC member Abilene Christian, a non-NCAA Division I counter, on Thursday, January 16. Tipoff in Abilene Christian is scheduled for 7 pm CT.
