TULSA, Okla. - Fresh off their most exhilarating victory of the season, Oral Roberts University is back on the road this week to face Southland Conference newcomer Houston Baptist. Tipoff at Sharp Gym in Houston, Texas is scheduled for Thursday, February 13 at 5 pm CT.

Live radio coverage begins at 4:45 pm CT on KYAL-AM 1550 and ORUGoldenEagles.com, while live video is available through HBUHuskies.com.

ORU (7-14, 6-5 SLC) went 2-0 last week, including a thrilling 81-78 win over Southeastern Louisiana on February 8. Senior Christian Key drained a 35-footer at the buzzer to lift the Golden Eagles to the win and place them over .500 in league play.

Kaylan Mayberry led ORU with 21 points in the win, her third straight 20-point effort, and she assisted on the game-winning basket. Key scored 17 points, including seven  in the final minute of the game after SLU had taken a four-point lead.

Key continues to lead ORU in scoring, ranking 12th in the Southland Conference at 14.0 points per game. Center Sarah Shelton blocked a career-high seven shots in the SLU win and now leads the league with 2.2 blocks per game.

ORU is now in a three-way tie for 5th place in the crowded SLC Tournament race. McNeese State and Northwestern State are also 6-5, with Stephen F. Austin and Nicholls both at 7-4.

Houston Baptist (10-13, 6-6 SLC) has won three of their last four games. The Huskies beat Incarnate Word, 70-65, on February 8 in their most recent contest.

Guard Rachel Arthur led HBU with 20 points in the win over Incarnate Word, while Shanice Steenholdt added 11 points and 10 rebounds. On the year, Steenholdt leads the Huskies with 17.9 points and 9.5 boards per game.

ORU is 3-0 all-time against Houston Baptist, including an 85-73 victory on January 2 at the Mabee Center. Freshman Dorottya Balla scored a career-high 30 points in the victory, while Steenholdt exploded for 32 points and 13 rebounds.

A victory on Thursday would give ORU their first road win of the season. The Golden Eagles haven’t won away from home in their last 12 attempts, their longest skid since a 15-game streak that started at Missouri on Feb. 9, 1995 and ended on Dec. 3, 1996 with a win over UTPA.

ORU completes the road trip on Saturday, February 15 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Game time at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi is booked for 1 pm CT.
