ORU Women Prepare for Final Regular Season Road Game

The Oral Roberts women’s basketball team travels south in hopes of earning the first of two conference wins necessary to wrap up the Summit League regular season title, as they take on Centenary Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Scouting the Ladies
The Centenary Ladies head into the Saturday afternoon contest with an 0-22 overall record and a 0-15 mark in the Summit League. Despite their winless record, Centenary has remained competitive with the season winding down, battling Southern Utah tough on the road, before falling 63-73 to the Thunderbirds.
Centenary is led by the 12.5 points and 7.2 boards per game of Ashley Jackson. Jackson averages 31 minutes per game and is shooting a solid 41% from the floor this season. Ne-Ne Cook is the other Lady starter to score in double-digits, posting an 11.1 points per game average on a 29% shooting clip.
As a team, Centenary is scoring 54 points per game, while giving up an average of 86 points per contest. The Ladies shoot 34% from the field and 29% from beyond the arc for the season. Centenary also gets out-rebounded by an average of 13 (30-43) boards per game.
ORU holds a commanding 14-1 advantage over Centenary in a series that dates back to 2004. The Golden Eagles lone loss to the Ladies came on 1/31/09 when they fell in Shreveport 56-67. ORU has currently won three straight over Centenary, including a 92-55 win in their last meeting on January 22 in the Mabee Center. The last time ORU travelled to Shreveport, the Golden Eagles logged a 95-65 decision on 1/23/10, thanks to game-best 24 points from Jaci Bigham.
Following the UMKC contest, ORU is back on the road next Saturday as they take on the Centenary Ladies in Shreveport, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m.
