Jenni Bryan will sit out the 2012-13 season and have two years of eligibility left at ORU
TULSA, Okla. - Former Coweta standout Jenni Bryan will transfer from Oklahoma State and join the Oral Roberts women’s basketball team, it was announced by the school on Thursday. Bryan will be required to sit the 2012-13 season out in accordance with NCAA rules, but will have two years of eligibility left for the Golden Eagles.

Bryan saw action in 27 games last year for the WNIT Champion Cowgirls, earning starts against Rice and Coppin State.  In two seasons at OSU, she played in 57 games and had 10 starts to her credit.

Last season, Bryan scored 10 points in 11 minutes of action down the stretch in the Cowgirls’ victory over Oklahoma in Gallagher-Iba Arena, and she had a season-high 11 points against New Mexico as a freshman.

Prior to Oklahoma State, Bryan averaged better than 15 points in each of her final three seasons, leading Coweta to a state runner-up finish. As a sophomore, she was a McDonald’s All-American nominee.

The daughter of Shelby and former OU and NFL defensive lineman Rick Bryan, Bryan was originally recruited out of high school by ORU as well as Tulsa, Missouri, Louisville and Texas Tech.

Bryan will join fellow Oklahoman Taylor Cooper, who signed with the Golden Eagles during the early signing period from Shawnee High School (Shawnee, Okla.) on next year’s ORU roster.

The Golden Eagles posted a 20-11 record this season and earned their third straight Women’s NIT bid.
