ORU is 3-5 after falling to Louisiana Tech, 61-59, on Dec. 14 in Ruston, La. The Golden Eagles held a 59-58 lead in the game’s final minute before Louisiana Tech’s Whitney Frazier scored a three-point play with :12 seconds remaining to give the home team a two-point lead.

ORU had one final opportunity to win the game at the buzzer, but freshman Taylor Cooper’s last-second three-pointer was off the mark.

Kevi Luper led the Golden Eagles with 18 points on the night to go with five rebounds. Bernadett Balla came off the bench and played a huge role in the team’s second half comeback, scoring 16 points.

Luper continues to lead the Southland Conference in scoring, at 22.0 points per game, while fellow senior Jaci Bigham leads the SLC with 7.1 assists per game.

Redshirt junior Sarah Shelton moved to the top of the SLC rankings in field goal percentage this week; the senior is shooting 70.0% from the field.

The Golden Eagles have lost four straight road games and five straight games against NCAA Division I competition heading into the Nebraska game. ORU’s last win on the road and against a fellow DI opponent was a 73-41 win over UT-Arlington on November 16.

The Cornhuskers are 8-3 on the season and have won two straight games, including a 62-52 win over South Florida on Dec. 16. Nebraska has been ranked for much of the season and was 24th in the Dec. 11 edition of the USA Today Coaches' Poll.

Nebraska went 24-9 last season, including a 10-6 record in their first Big Ten Conference campaign. The Cornhuskers advanced to the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game and the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament.

Nebraska Head Coach Connie Yori is 198-129 in her 11th season in Lincoln. ORU's Misti Cussen is 3-5 in her first season leading the Golden Eagles.

Oral Roberts is 0-4 all-time against the Cornhuskers, with all four of the setbacks coming on the road in Lincoln. ORU’s last meeting with Nebraska came on December 2, 2008, a 70-51 loss at the Devaney Center. ORU shot 37.7% in the game and could not rally after scoring just 17 first half points.

ORU‘s four losses to Nebraska have come by an average of 28.5 points. The closest of the four defeats was a 100-87 setback on November 27, 1987.

ORU is 2-8 all-time against current Big Ten Conference members, with their last win coming at Wisconsin on November 13, 2011, an 80-63 victory.
