Senior Pair Named to SLC All-Academic Team
Luper, a native of Adair, was a 1st Team All-Academic selection. The all-time leading scorer in ORU history, Luper carries a 3.58 grade-point average while majoring in business. On the court, Luper averaged 19.0 points per game as a senior and was the only Southland Conference player to earn Mid-Major All-America honors from Full Court Press and College Sports Madness.
The 14th-leading scorer in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history, Luper was also a finalist for the 2013 Senior CLASS Award.
Bigham, out of McAlester, was a 2nd Team All-Academic pick. The floor general ended her career as ORU’s career leader in assists, and she was named a 2nd Team All-Conference pick after averaging 12.4 points and 6.7 assists per game. In the classroom, Bigham carries a 3.72 GPA in communications, with an emphasis in public relations.
McNeese State’s Ashlyn Baggett was named SLC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Year.
Luper and Bigham led ORU to an 18-13 record in 2012-13, including Southland Conference regular season and tournament championships. The seniors finished their careers on March 23, with an 83-62 loss to Tennessee in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
