LAWRENCE, Kan.- The Oral Roberts women's cross country team swept the top three individual spots on Saturday leading the team to a first place finish at the Bob Timmons Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas.
Kristen Radcliff took home the gold with a time of 18:38.80 around the 5k course at Rim Rock Farms, leading the trio of Golden Eagles. Sheilah Ndasym finished second with a time of 19:00.60 and Samantha Watson's time of 19:30.70 put her third overall in the race. Marta Adamiec ran 20:08.10 to finish seventh, and Casady Ashcraft's time of 21:46.20 put her 19th. Tiffany Hagan (23:33.40) finished 30th, while Erin Patterson (25:47.20) and Marrisa Thomas (25:52.50) finished back-to-back in 36th and 37th, respectively.
With 29 team points, and an average time of 19:48.88, ORU blew away the competition as Kansas finished second with 35 points and an average of 20:14.26.
Led by Shadrack Koech's third place finish (19:29.30), the men's team finished fourth overall with 108 team points. Leif Peterson finished the 6k course in 21:23.80 for 36th, while Ryan Masey's time of 21:41.70 put him 40th overall. John Chau (23:27.40) and Tyler Banks (23:29.10) finished together in 48th and 49th, respectively. Rounding out the finishers was John Bradford, who ran 25:13.00 to claim 54th in the first event of the season.
The hosting Kansas Jayhawks had four of the top six finishers and won the team championship with 24 points.
ORU will have a weekend off before hosting the ORU Invitational on September 17.
