TULSA, Okla.-The ORU cross country teams will compete this weekend on campus as they take on UMKC in the ORU Invitational, with the men's race beginning at 8 a.m. and the women's race immediately following at 8:30 a.m.
The two summit league opponents will be the only two teams represented at the meet that will feature a 5k men's race and a two mile women's race.
Being just the second competition of the season for ORU, neither Golden Eagle squad has competed at the set distances, running a 6k (men) and 5k (women) last time out at the Bob Timmons Classic. Shadrack Koech led the men's team, and holds the ninth-best 6k time in the Summit League, but UMKC has five runners in the top-15 at that distance so far this year.
Kristen Radcliff owns the top 5k time in the League on the women's side, having earned Summit League Athlete of the Week honors after winning the Bob Timmons Classic. Sheilah Ndasym's runner-up time has her fifth in the Summit League. UMKC competed at a 4k distance to start their season.
