TULSA, Okla.-In a meet that was added in the middle of the week, ORU took on cross-town rival Tulsa on Saturday on the ORU campus. The ORU women's team got the best of the duel, edging TU 27-29 on a two mile course, while the Golden Hurricane men topped ORU 19-38 in a 5k race.
Kristen Radcliff made it a perfect three-for-three this season as she won her third consecutive race for the Blue and Gold, crossing the line in 11:27.34, 12 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Sheilah Ndasym finished second for ORU and fourth overall with a time of 11:45.27.
For the second time this season, freshman Samantha Watson moved up to third on the team with a time of 11:56.16, finishing fifth overall, her second top-5 finish of the year. Her time edged out teammate Marta Adamiec, who ran 11:58.28 to finish sixth overall.
Erin Patterson (13:09.90) and Casady Ashcraft (13:09.91) finished neck-and-neck in 11th and 12th, as did Tiffany Hagan (14:41.75) and Marrisa Thomas (14:41.76), who finished 14th and 15th, respectively.
On the men's side, Shadrack Koech continued to run well, carding his third consecutive top-5 finish and his first runner-up finish of the year with a time of 16:43.00.
Lief Peterson (17:24.64) edged out his teammate Ryan Masey (17:32.13), finishing in seventh and eighth, respectively. John Chau ran 18:36.49 to finish 10th, and Jarrett Davis, normally a shorter distance runner, filled in to run 21:36.02 in his first cross country appearance and finished 11th.
ORU will travel next weekend to the Oklahoma State Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla.
