TULSA—Annika Niemeier scored the game’s only goal in the 66th minute as No. 22 Oklahoma State edged Oral Roberts 1-0 in an exhibition match, Saturday at the ORU Soccer Complex.

Niemeier took a corner kick from Megan Marchesano and slipped the ball past ORU keeper Amanda Wheeler, breaking a scoreless tie at 65:32. It was one of 11 shots on-goal for the Cowgirls, who out-shot ORU, 28-5.

Wheeler stopped 10 shots while playing all 90 minutes in goal. Her counterpart, OSU keeper Adrianna Franch, made three saves. Wheeler made five saves in each half while all of Franch’s came in the game’s first 45 minutes.

The Golden Eagles open the 2010 regular season when they host UALR, 7 p.m., Friday.
