TULSA-Mississippi State's Kat Walsh scored the game's only goal as Mississippi State edged Oral Roberts 1-0, Sunday at ORU Soccer Complex.
Walsh took a pass from Ashley Hood, made a move around defender Jordan Miller, and knocked the ball just past the reach of ORU keeper Amanda Wheeler for a goal in the 70th minute.
ORU (4-4-0) lost despite out-playing the Bulldogs (7-2-0). The Golden Eagles out-shot Mississippi State, 18-11, including a 9-6 edge in shots on-goal.
Mississippi State goal keeper Abby Risner made nine saves, while Wheeler finished with five stops.
The Golden Eagles host John Brown, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24 at ORU Soccer Complex.
