BROOKINGS, S.D.—South Dakota State’s Chelsey Poole scored the game’s only goal to lead the Jackrabbits to a 1-0 win over Oral Roberts in a key Summit League match, Friday at Fishback Park.

The loss for ORU means the Golden Eagles (9-7-1 overall, 4-3-1 Summit) need a win in the regular-season finale on Sunday at North Dakota State to qualify for the Summit League Tournament, next weekend in Brookings.

Poole’s goal came in the 43rd minute. Steph Peterson crossed the ball to left side of the goal and Poole found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. SDSU (10-3-4, 5-2-1) made the goal stand up the rest of the way.

The Jacks out-shot ORU, 20-3, with 10 shots coming on-goal. ORU keeper Amanda Wheeler made nine saves.

The Golden Eagles close out the regular season when they visit North Dakota State, 1 p.m., Sunday.
