TULSA, Okla.- The Golden Eagles fall on the road to South Dakota State on Friday night 2-0.
ORU (4-7-1), who played without leading scorer Maria Grados, finished the night with just four shots. Sophomore forward Mary-Kate Halsmer took the only shot-on-goal for the Golden Eagles. Senior keeper Amanda Wheeler got the start at keeper. She allowed two goals and collected three saves. The Golden Eagles fell to 1-1 in conference play.
SDSU (5-5-1) was led by senior forward Kayla Braffet, who scored a goal in the 34th minute to make it 1-0, and then assisted on the second goal by senior forward Cori Bonte to give the Jacks the win. Senior Kat Donovan collected one save on the night. The Jacks improved to 1-0 in conference play.
ORU faces North Dakota State on Sunday, October 2 at 1 p.m.
