This is the 10th of 15 editions of the Top Moments from 2012-13 as selected by the ORU Media Relations Department and a social media poll.
TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University women’s soccer team scored a big road victory on September 9, 2012, as they took down Oklahoma in Norman. It was the first victory over a Big 12 team since 2005, and the first victory over the Sooners since 2004.
Megan Giles scored the lone goal for ORU off a pass from Jennifer Abernathy in the 67th minute. As the 1-0 score would indicate, Helen Erb also had a big game for the Golden Eagles as they posted the shut out with eight saves in the game.
ORU went on to defeat Sam Houston State 2-0 in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament before falling 2-1 to eventual champion Stephen F. Austin.
