TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University women’s soccer team goes for a school record 15th victory on Friday as they it hosts McNeese State in the regular season finale. Kickoff is schedule for 7 p.m., with senior night activities taking place following the match.

ORU (14-4, 9-2) tied the school record for victories in a season on last Friday as the Golden Eagles blanked Northwestern State, 2-0. Jordan Parsons and Megan Giles each scored their sixth goals of the season, with assists from Madison Valenzuela and Jennifer Abernathy, respectively.

Valenzuela added a pair of goals two nights before in a 4-1 victory over Central Arkansas, helping her to the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week award on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles will have to wait until Sunday’s conference matches are completed before they will know their seed and opponent in the Southland Conference Tournament next weekend.

Both Southeastern Louisiana and Stephen F. Austin have two matches remaining. An ORU win and loss by SFA and a loss or a tie by SLU, will give the Golden Eagles the regular season title. If ORU wins, SLU wins both of their matches and SFA loses a match, or SLU loses or ties in one of their matches, ORU will received a two seed and a crucial bye in the tournament.

McNeese State enters Friday’s match with a 6-10-2 overall record and a 1-8-1 Southland mark. Last weekend, the Cowgirls earned their first victory in conference play with a 1-0 output against Abilene Christian on Sunday, after they ended in a scoreless draw with Incarnate Word on Friday.

Junior midfielder Tori Lasiter leads the squad with five goals, while juniors Haley Lyons, Jordan Beasley and freshman Kayla Goedicke each have three this season. Maggie Marks has started the last three matches in goal for the Cowgirls. She has compiled 842 minutes in 10 matches this season with 44 saves.

Last season, the Golden Eagles knocked off the Cowgirls on the road in overtime, 2-1. ORU has won all three matches between the two programs.
