30 Teams Compete in Golden Eagle Golf Classic

TULSA, Okla. – The ORU Golden Eagle Club had another great showing for the annual Bob Hurley Auto Family Golden Eagle Golf Classic with 30 teams competing in a shamble format at Tulsa Country Club on Tuesday. The rain held off until the end, and even with wet conditions the foursome of Darrin Whittenburg, Martin Maritz, Larry Tarpley and Gene Jackson combined to shoot a 106 combined score to win the team championship.

Steve Coop, Whit Dyer, Mark Steele and Eric Linn finished second at 110.

Prizes for the top teams consisted of Oakley sunglasses, new putters, gift cards to local restaurants and free rounds of golf at area courses.
