Mike Minyard, a 2006 graduate of Oral Roberts University, joined the Golden Eagle athletics staff full-time in December 2006 as the Director of Marketing/Ticket Sales.  His primary responsibilities at ORU include developing marketing plans, overseeing ticket sales and coordinating advertising for the men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball programs.  Minyard also oversees the men's basketball gift-per-seat program.  Mike is highly involved with the annual Diamond Dinner which is the primary fundraising event for the baseball program and he is also responsible for soliciting members to baseball's Grand Slam Club.

ORU has seen record numbers in ticket revenues since 2006. ORU has recently set school records in the following categories: overall athletic department ticket revenue (2012); men's basketball ticket revenue (2012); baseball ticket revenue (2011); men's basketball (2012), women's basketball (2011) & baseball (2011) single-game ticket revenue; and group ticket sales revenue (2010). ORU has also decreased ticket-related printing expenses by 83% since 2006.

In 2012, men's basketball drew crowds of over 6,800 five times at the Mabee Center including a season-high 9,005 fans when hosting conference rival Oakland on Jan. 21. ORU ranked 18th in the nation for the largest increase in average attendance according to the NCAA.

The Mayor's Cup, the men's basketball cross-town rivalry with the University of Tulsa, had its largest crowd in over a decade with a near capacity crowd of 9,303 at the Mabee Center on Jan. 20, 2010.

ORU won the NCAA Women's Basketball Pack the House Challenge in 2010, 2011 and 2012 for the Summit League. The award winning "Best Field Trip Ever" promotion has produced some of the largest women's basketball crowds in school history with over 4,000 Tulsa-area school kids in attendance each year.

In 2008, Minyard initiated conversation with Fox College Sports. The national television deal has made men's basketball home games available to nearly 60 million homes. The TV deal has been responsible for having several home games highlighted on ESPN SportsCenter as well as numerous plays featured on ESPN Top 10 Plays of the Day.

While earning his Marketing degree, Mike was a student assistant coach for the men's basketball program as well as a student worker in Media Relations for Athletics.  Mike's parents, Ray and Joleen, are long-time season ticket holders.  Joleen attended ORU from 1969-73.

Mike was named to the Tulsa Business Journal's 2010 Class of 40 Under 40. He currently serves on the March of Dimes Eastern Oklahoma Division Board of Directors.  Mike has been a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) since 2007 and was selected to present on the subject of generating revenue through social media at the 2012 NACDA Convention.

Minyard lives in Broken Arrow.
