TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts women's soccer team will take the pitch over the weekend for a couple of matches in Nebraska in hopes of continuing its current three match streak without a loss, as they take on Nebraska-Omaha on Friday and Creighton and Saturday.
The three match streak without a loss, including victories over Oklahoma and Mississippi Valley State and a draw at Tulsa, is the longest for a Golden Eagle squad since the 2008 season.
A new member of the Summit League, the Golden Eagles former home, the Omaha Mavs are winless through their first nine matches in 2012, despite winning their lone exhibition match over South Dakota. In the nine losses, the Mavs are giving up almost three goals a contest.
Omaha is led by senior Danielle Archuleta who has scored three of the team's six goals.
The Golden Eagles (4-3-2) will remain in Omaha through Sunday, visiting Creighton (3-5-2) for an early afternoon contest. On Wednesday, despite being outshot nearly 2-1, the Blue Jays came out on top at home against South Dakota State, 2-1.
Offensively, the Blue Jays have been a fairly balanced team, as seven different players have put goals on the board, led by Brittney Neumann with four goals. Between the posts, Katie Jo Swanson is the only keeper to see action this season, logging over 900 minutes and recording 76 saves.
Sunday's match marks the first time the Golden Eagles will face Creighton in 15 seasons, with the Blue Jays holding the series lead 0-2-1.
